French Polynesia is made up of several island groups. They
are Marquesas Islands, Tuamotu Archipelago, Gambier Islands,
Society Islands (including Tahiti) and the Tubuai Islands.
The total area of French Poylnesia is 1,544 square miles.
Papeete, on Tahiti is the capital of the territory.
Three types police forces cover French Polynesia. They
are the French Gendarmerie, the French National Police in
Paeete, and numerous municipal police departments.
Another French territory in the pacific is Wallis & Futuna
Islands. They are not part of French Polynesia but a small
island group located west of Samoa. As far as I know the
Gendarmerie are the only law enforcement on these islands.
